UDISE+ filing: 5 common errors that block submission
UDISE+ rejections almost always trace to the same handful of issues: missing Aadhaar formats, mismatched DOB, duplicate roll numbers, blank section codes, and stale academic session links. A practical pre-flight to clear every one in under an hour.

UDISE+ is your school's annual reality check with the government. A clean submission gives the next year's affiliation fewer questions; a rejected one means weeks of re-uploading. We see the same five errors block 80% of submissions.
1. Aadhaar formatting — 12 digits, no spaces, no dashes. Students missing Aadhaar should have the "Aadhaar Not Available" reason ticked, not a blank cell.
2. DOB mismatch with class — A Class 5 student aged 17 will fail the age-grade plausibility check. Fix the DOB in admission records, not in UDISE.
3. Duplicate roll numbers — Section A roll 1 and Section B roll 1 are fine; Section A roll 1 listed twice is not. Run a duplicate report in your SMS first.
4. Blank section codes — Even single-section schools need "A" or "1" filled. UDISE rejects nulls.
5. Stale academic session — If your data still references "2024-25" but you're submitting 2025-26, the foreign-key cascade silently nulls everything. Promote your students first, then export.
The 30-minute checklist: export students → run row-validation script → fix in SMS → re-export → submit. Doing this in February (not March-end) means rejections come back early and you have buffer.
A modern SMS catches these errors before UDISE does — you fix them in your own tool with sane error messages, not on a government portal at 11 PM.
