Fee collection without chasing parents
A practical guide to setting up class-wise fee structures, automated SMS reminders, online payment links and family-pay receipts so dues collect themselves.

Schools spend more time chasing fees than teaching about them. Here is a setup that makes dues collect themselves:
1. Define your fee heads once — Tuition, Transport, Exam, Library, Computer, Late Fee. Each head can have a due day and per-day surcharge.
2. Build class-wise fee structures — clone the previous session's structure to save typing.
3. Auto-link siblings — when admitting a student, our system derives `family_id` from the father's phone. Pay for all children in one receipt; one SMS to the parent.
4. Turn on the daily reminder cron — at 10:00 IST every morning, parents with dues ≥ ₹100 (configurable) get an SMS with the amount + a one-tap payment link. No payment is sent twice — there's a 3-day cool-down per parent.
5. Track defaulters from one screen — Analytics → Top Defaulters has 📞 Call, 💬 WhatsApp (pre-filled), 👪 Pay-for-family, and 💵 Collect buttons next to every parent in the top 15. Two minutes of admin time per day clears most of the backlog.
The combination usually drops outstanding dues by 40-60 percent within a quarter.
