A school website with no organic search traffic is a brochure. Here is the checklist:

1. Pick one primary keyword per page. "CBSE school in <city>" beats "best educational institute in north India".
2. Title tag and H1 must contain the keyword. No keyword stuffing — write for parents, not Googlebot.
3. Meta description: 1-2 sentences that make a parent click. Include the keyword once.
4. Use HTTPS. Free via Let's Encrypt / cPanel AutoSSL.
5. Mobile-first responsive design — 78 percent of parent searches in India come from a phone.
6. Page load under 2 seconds. Compress images, lazy-load below-the-fold content.
7. Local SEO: Google Business Profile with phone, address, photos, board (CBSE / ICSE / UP Board / state). Reviews matter — ask parents.
8. Schema.org markup — School, BreadcrumbList, FAQPage. Sample JSON-LD blocks on this very blog use BlogPosting + SoftwareApplication.
9. Sitemap.xml submitted to Google Search Console. (Our SMS apex generates one automatically — `/sitemap.xml`.)
10. robots.txt that allows the marketing site but blocks the parent-portal and admin URLs.
11. Internal linking — every blog post links to one or two related posts and one conversion target (admissions form, trial signup).
12. Publish consistently — even one quality post a week beats a flurry of 10 thin pages.

Most importantly: write what a confused parent actually types into Google at 11 pm. That's your keyword.
